Do you ever find yourself telling your teacher or yourself that you “kept trying”, but it just didn’t work?
When you find yourself saying you’re ‘trying’, it is a big clue.
Clue for what?
Clue that you have been allowing Autopilot to take over.
In other words, you have been practicing mindlessly.
Remember that to make progress, you have to constantly turn Autopilot off. Then you are in control and can consciously repeat what you want until it is ingrained in your muscle memory.
Refer to the Autopilot tips below for reminders on how to do so.

Life Lesson
“There is no try, only do.” One of the world’s most famous quotes, uttered by Yoda of Star Wars.
But why is there no try?
Picture yourself ‘trying’ to do something, like picking up a chair. If you are ‘trying’ correctly, then you are not actually picking up the chair. But also, at the same time, you are not just standing there – you have to ‘try’.*
You are in this confusing in-between state where nothing actually happens.
That’s why you get no results when you ‘try’.
What is the solution?
The solution is to take the work ‘try’ out of your vocabulary. Then figure out what action you need to take, and take it.
